Roto-o-Rangi School

Agricultural Day

In October each year we hold our school Agricultural Day (Ag day). We encourage all children who are able to have a calf, lamb or kid goat, to rear and befriend it. Animals can usually be found for those who do not live on a farm, often on a 'return' basis. In the past, children from town with an average sized backyard have still managed to raise a goat or a lamb. Otherwise children can join in on the cooking and garden in a bucket competitions.

The programme caters for Calves, Lambs and Goats. Children of all ages are able to enter. Pre-school children are welcome to enter in the day as well. All information about our Ag Day, and getting Registration Forms are available from the school office from mid term 3 each year.

Ag day has a great family atmosphere with several local firms sponsoring our day. So come along and join us and enjoy a barbecue luncheon.
