Roto-o-Rangi School

Athletics

Athletics training begins in Term 4 where all students are encouraged to give every activity a go and parents/caregivers are invited along to our Athletics Day.  Activities include, long jump, high jump, vortex throw, running races, shot putt and discus/frisbee.

We believe fundamental movement skills need to be developed not only because they are important to your child's long term health and well being but because they also support other areas of your child's development.  The core skills of running, throwing and jumping are the foundations for most other physical pursuits, so even if athletics is not your child's primary sport, participating in athletics can help them achieve better results in our areas.

Each year we also compete in the Rural Schools Athletics day.
