How we welcome our new whaanau

We want our place to become your place...

Tuurangawaewae - belonging - is important to us here. We want you to feel that our place is your place too - that you belong here and are a part of our whaanau.  This is why we welcome everyone new to our kura at the start of every year with a Mihi Whakatau - a welcome.  This might seem a little daunting if you haven't experienced one before, or attended a Poowhiri at a Marae, so we've put together a little guide to explain what a whakatau is and how it goes!

When a new student or staff member starts throughout the year we hold a smaller version of a mihi whakatau led by the class that they are joining.
