We have worked hard to get our Kapa Haka up and running - it has certainly been a haerenga for us! This year one of our whaanau, Tainia, assisted by other parents and Mr D, have taken up the mantle to coach ngaa tauira. We look forward to performing at the Kapa Haka Festival again in Term 3.
2022 - Student coaches from Cambridge High School: Kimiora, Kawiti and Te Kore.
2023 - Whaea Rangiamoa & Whaea Kahurangi were our tutors, taking us to the Cambridge Kapa Haka Festival for the first time.
2024 - Cambridge High School supported us again, with Matua Te Taonga coaching our tamariki. We performed at the festival in August and noticed just how much our tamariki had grown in confidence and ability.
2025 - Te Kore Poka (Ngaati Koroki Kahukura, Ngaati Haua) returned to coach our kapa. Our first year of whole school involvement. Sadly this came to and end mid-year, so we missed the Kapa Haka Festival.
2026 - Superstar parent and Board Member, Tainia Pearson, stepped up to the plate and began coaching our tauira. Assisted by Mr D, our kapa intend to return to the Kapa Haka Festival at Karaapiro once again this year! Karawhiua!
