Rural Schools' Cross Country
Date: 4th September 2025
Based on previous information here are details of the day BUT the programme is yet to be confirmed.
We will be able to transport children on the bus, but parents are welcome to take and return their children themselves.
PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS: Karāpiro, Te Miro, Kaipaki, Hora Hora, Roto-o-Rangi
CANCELLATION: If postponed, schools will be notified by phone by 8.30 am on the day.
DISTANCES:
Race distances will be similar to below….
● 5 year olds approx. 560 metres (1 hill and jumping hay bales)
● 6 year olds approx. 560 metres (1 hill and jumping hay bales)
● 7 year olds approx. 700 metres (1 hill and jumping hay bales)
● Junior (8 and 9 year olds) 1.5 kms with 2 hills
● Intermediate (10 and 11 year olds) 2.1 kms with 2 hills
● Senior (12 year +) 2.2 kms with 3 hills
PARKING:
Parking is in the designated lower level car parks only. No parking on the grass or the road verge is permitted.
START TIME:
We will all meet at the Domain at 9.30am, ready to start promptly at 10.00am. Everyone is to assemble on the lower campground.

Students will run in their age group.

9.30 am Schools arrive and assemble next to the kitchen
9.50 Welcome and briefing (for marshalls and juniors)
10.00 Preschool race
10.10 5 year old girls
10.15 5 year old boys
10.20 6 year old girls
10.25 6 year old boys
10.40 7 year old girls
10.50 7 year old boys
11.00 Prizegiving 1 (for 5 – 7 year olds)
11.10 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 year old Course Walk Around/Marshal briefing
11.25 Junior Girls 8 years old
11:35 Junior Boys 8 years old
11:45 Junior Girls 9 years old
11:55 Junior Boys 9 years old
12.05 pm Intermediate Girls 10 years old
12:15 Intermediate Boys 10 years old
12:25 Intermediate Girls 11 years old
