Mrs Joanna McIntyre joins our team from the beginning of 2026, though she is no stranger to us here at Roto-o-Rangi!

"There is nothing more rewarding than sparking a lifelong love for learning right at the start of a child's school journey. Having begun my career in Early Childhood Education, I’ve always believed that the classroom should be a supportive, creative space where every day feels like a new adventure. For the past six years, I’ve loved teaching new entrant classes locally, and I am so excited to now be a part of the Roto-o-Rangi teaching team!

For me, teaching is all about connection. I place a high value on building strong relationships with my students and working closely alongside whānau so we can support every child to reach their full potential.

Outside of school, life is wonderfully full-on! My husband, Macca, and I have four highly active, sports-mad kids: Hollie, Shamus, Frankie, and Billy. When it’s time to unwind, our family heads straight to our absolute happy place—Whangamata—to enjoy the beach and do a spot of fishing!"
